The first thing you need to get your miracle of a fulfilling and godly partner for marriage is to have a word of promise to hang on to.
Faith doesn’t operate in vacuum.
So can I ask all of you reading this tonight, what word of promise have you received from the Lord? What has he said to you specifically?
If you haven’t received a direct message, what about all the portions of the Bible that speak about fruitfulness – be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth? How is it possible to fill the earth with godly seeds without a godly marriage.
Those are the promises to lay hold on and engage God with.
I want to share with you scriptures you can hold on to for your warfare.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:28 KJV
Your argument with this is that no woman can be fruitful and multiply the earth alone, you need a man.
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 KJV
This is a beautiful scripture to do warfare with.
His word says, two are better than one!
It is not good for the man (or the woman) to be alone.
And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? *That he might seek a godly seed.* Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
Malachi 2:15 KJV
God is constantly seeking godly seeds. The seeds he desires to fill the earth with are godly seeds.
You have a role to play in this mandate.
You need to contribute your own godly seeds to the earth before you take a bow. Why you need a godly man.
This is exactly the way you should present your case before God with the above scriptures.
So:
1. A word from God to hold on to for you to engage God with for your answers.
2. Prayers. No one can be a man of faith who is not a man of prayer. Prayer is the fuel of faith. Without continuous prayers, your faith easily dissipates, you easily lose your persuasion and get overwhelmed with doubts again.
And so in this journey to your answers, you need to cultivate a culture of continuous prayers and the best time to do this is early in the morning before the day breaks, because that’s the time you have least distractions.
Many people who claim to be waiting on God are actually lazy in prayers. They don’t pray, they can’t pray even for one hour non stop. How then will the answers come?
You need to know that faith is like a car carrying you to where your answer is. You need to keep refuelling so that the car doesn’t run out of fuel before it gets to its destination.
Some of you were so close to your answers when you stopped praying.
You need to know that until your Faith-Car arrives at its destination, you mustn’t run out of fuel.
And so your faith ran out of fuel and now despite how close you are, you haven’t gotten your answers still. That’s why prayer must be continuous.
The bible said concerning Abraham that he staggered not at the promise of God (regarding a baby) even though it tarried for 25 years, he remained strong in faith.
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Romans 4:18-21 KJV
If you want to remain strong in faith, you have to remain in prayers. That’s the only way.
While you keep in prayers with the ammunition of God’s promises to you with which you’re engaging God, you need to then be careful of the temptation of self-help.
This was the undoing of Abraham.
He had a promise from God and he was believing, but he didn’t know that the answer will tarry a bit. Not because God had no power, but God has a perfect time in His own purpose for everything.
But while the wait lasted and the pressure increased, one day, Sarah his wife brought a suggestion for him to help himself – since God was delaying- that he should sleep with Hagar the slave.
Abraham took that advice and you know what, the whole world has not recovered from that mistake till today.
When Isaac finally came, Ishmael the product of self-help continued to strive with him and continued to trouble him till this day.
As you wait, and the wait begins to look long, you’ll come under pressure to compromise your stand.
Some men will come to you and you know they aren’t your Isaac, but out of desperation to marry, you succumb to their pressure for casual sex only for them to take to their heels after they’ve had their way.
Some of you actually have gotten pregnant for such men and in the process you’ve further complicated your journey and made it more difficult for your Isaac to find you attractive now that you have a baby out of wedlock.
I am sounding this warning, please, don’t allow any form of Ishmael in your life while you wait for your Isaac.
Isaac is worth the wait my sisters.
Whatever Ishmael you permit out of desperation will become an albatross to your Isaac when he finally arrives.
Learn from the story of Abraham.
Did his Isaac eventually come? Yes he did.
But did his mistake continue to hunt innocent Isaac and his descendants till today? Yes.
Why do you want to create problem for your Isaac?
Resist every temptation for self-help while the wait lasts.
Wait for the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
His time is always perfect. And all the gifts that come from above are always perfect gifts.
Don’t compromise your stand because of pressure. The Lord will help you in Jesus name.
While you wait:
– Discover your purpose and begin to fulfill it. Your Isaac will likely find you in the place of purpose.
– Grow your spirit and Christian character – you’ll need a lot of the fruits of the spirit to keep your Isaac when he finally comes.
– develop yourself in your professional calling. This will make you more attractive to your Isaac. Take that extra course, learn that skill, take that extra degree. Make yourself irresistible.
While you wait, don’t waste. Get your hands occupied..
May the Lord hasten His work in your life and cut it short in righteousness.
Your brother,
Peniela Eniayo Akintujoye.
